# How I Got 100k Quora Views With 101 Posts - ONE Primal Attention Grab

Without attention, great products die.

In this episode, you'll discover the most powerful primal way to grab attention.

You'll grab attention in THE way the human brain was designed.

Let's go.

## 1 No Attention, No Honey

Brian curled down and cried.

His tears froze over his cheeks.

He can't understand why -- his gelato is mouth-watering.

Everyone who tries it, praises it.

Yet, he's sitting there since 8 o'clock in the morning... and not a single customer came by.

Truth is: no customers will come through that day, that week, or that month.

You see, Brian has this very wrong idea -- that if you make a better product, the world will beat a path to your doorsteps.

So he would take his ice cream to his favorite secluded spot in the middle of the Alaska forest, relaxing under the tree he loved, and he waited there where nobody is around for the sales to come.

Did he tell anyone he would be there? No.

Is this exaggerated? Yes.

But most people trying to succeed have the same vicious perspective that is literally destroying their success.

To explain, listen carefully to what I'll say next:

Someone recently asked me -- "Why does a business need marketing if it has a good product or service?"

Brian's story probably hints at my answer, but here are the details I wrote:

In Ancient China, there was a curse...

It's: "May you live in interesting times."

Why?

Because in interesting times, too many things are competing for people's attention.

In interesting times, people are distracted, and you need A LOT more in order to be noticed.

How is this relevant to Marketing?

Imagine this:

You're in the middle of a football stadium.

All around you, thousands of people are yelling at the top of their lungs.

Your eardrums are exploding.

You feel irritated.

Your eyes are barely open.

In such an environment, would you notice if near you there was a good product or service?

Nope.

Too much noise. Too many distractions.

We are living in such a business environment, today.

And with the internet, that stadium is filled with 8 billion people yelling too loud.

These are more than interesting times. We live in a time of overwhelm.

This means -- without marketing, nobody will even know your product exists.

Without marketing, nobody will even try your product to know whether it is any good.

Then, you will be sitting in front of your stockpile of products, shoulders hunched, tears filling your eyes, going bankrupt just because this modern noise has drowned out your voice.

Marketing is what we use to cut through this clutter.

Marketing is what we need for the right people to know that your good product exists and what makes it good in the first place.

That's the power of Marketing.

And that's why a good product or service is NOT enough.

## 2 Attention & Human Babies

Ok then--we agree attention is beautiful and all that. How do we get it?

There are many ways.

The most powerful one is -- Human faces.

This is why every single answer I write on Quora begins with the picture of a person looking straight at the reader.

And this is my reasoning:

When babies are born, their brains cannot distinguish objects.

All they see around is a sea of colors, similar to an extremely Impressionist painting by Monet.

It's beautiful. It's what photographers refer to as the Bokeh effect.

However, study after study shows that there is one thing that grabs babies' attention -- human faces.

Babies cannot see the difference between a table and the wall behind it, all it sees are colors.

But when a human face enters the picture, the brain goes into overdrive, and the babies' eyes almost involuntarily zoom onto that human face.

Human faces captivate attention. Human faces are the most relevant element around. Human faces catch the interest of our instincts.

Not only that, but they are processed within milli-seconds.

While words and sentences and prose and headlines need time for them to be read, decoded, categorized then get attention or lose it...

...Human faces are primal shortcuts to getting attention.

## 3 No Attention Has Consequences

Because if you don't have attention, your good intentions won't matter.

You can be kind, helpful, caring, and create a product that really makes a difference -- still, nobody will care.

Your marketing will fall on deaf ears and blind eyes -- just because it's missing the right first step: Getting Attention.

Creating content or marketing without engineering attention is like bringing a deformed baby into this world -- a baby who will suffer for the rest of its life.

It's like focusing on making the fridge at your home more beautiful, more aerodynamic, choosing which colors match the drapes best, yet your fridge is empty, there is no food in it, it's not living up to its potential.

Without engineering attention into your work, every second you put in is wasted, and will never return to you. Life is slipping away while you're taking the long hard road to results -- a road where attention is rare and your feel you're over a cliff where, at any moment, you can fall down and get crushed by the force of gravity, splattered onto the rocks down below.

Remember this: There is no better life for you in these cut-throat modern times without maximizing your ability to get attention.

Without focusing on getting attention, you'll be working hard for mere pennies, a fraction of what you can get right now with this simple change.

Those evenings you could have spent with the ones you love and care about--you'll have to spend them pulling your hair out, frustrated because things aren't working as well as you know they could.

With no time nor money to hire the best people who will take all that work off your plate.

Many lives you could have changes, many new customers and clients who pass through your marketing and content like a ship sailing through the darkness of the night--right into the laps of your competitors who are getting the deals you should be getting today, just because they can get a bit more attention than you can.

## 4 The Attention Matrix

Me--as a copywriter for almost a decade, I have even trained myself to view the world through the lens of attention: where it's going, how to get it, the best place to begin to secure it and keep it. It's like viewing the green code of the matrix all around you, seeing things other people cannot see.

This is what I want for you.

So, begin with this small step: Use one human face in your next content or marketing. It can be your face. Or someone else's face.

...Just have a face in there.

Because we often make the mistake of thinking we, humans, are some evolved logical entity, an idealized image that has no truth in reality.

We are mammals. We have animal brains that respond to what animals are wired for. In this case, it is the human face.

So how will you give Engineering Attention the priority it deserves?

One way can be to use my services as a copywriter. If you need writing or copy to get more attention and make more sales, then email me to begin a conversation here: mentor@storybonding.com

## 5 The Difference That It Makes

Because when you have attention, everything changes:

When you post something, hundreds of likes pop up in your notifications, putting a smile on your face.

When you promote your product, you see your stats catapulted into the stratosphere -- people looking, buying, positively reviewing, giving your work the success it deserves.

And that attention translates into money.

And money is the fuel that will give you freedom, it will let you hire the best people, and live the life you desire on your terms.

Less hassles. Less stress. More freedom. More time off.

Those are the fruits of grabbing attention effectively.
